Strengthening Our Commitment to the Environment
At Carrino, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword, it’s at the heart of everything we do. We’re proud to announce a major new step in our environmental journey, the installation of a powerful 28.8 kW solar panel & battery storage system at our facility in Eaton Socon.
This exciting development marks a significant move towards reducing our carbon footprint and embracing clean, renewable energy. Thanks to our partnership with Machelec, we now have 64 high-efficiency 450W panels, high-capacity battery storageand a GivEnergy 20kW, three phase hybrid inverter powering our operations.
Solar Power by the Numbers
- System Capacity: 28.8 kW
- Annual Generation: 26,295 kWh of clean electricity
- CO₂ Savings: 5,444 kg/year – equivalent to planting 250 trees or eliminating 19,444 miles of car travel annually.
- Annual Grid Export: 12,114 kWh
This solar system now covers more than half of our energy needs, reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and allowing us to export surplus energy back to the grid under the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG).
