What is raised access flooring?

  • In the simplest terms, floor panels which are generally 600mm x 600mm supported by steel adjustable pedestals in a variety of heights
  • The pedestals are adhesive bonded to the subfloor below leaving an accessible space in the void beneath panels as these can be lifted
  • The space can be used to contain building services like power and data cabling, air conditioning and even drainage
  • These services can then be easily accessed throughout the lifetime of the building
